Cat Rescues

Hello Everyone!

Lets introduce the 4 cat rescues each club has nominated for the donated prizes to go to!

First up we have Lucky Kitties who were nominated by Auckland Cat Club

We are a cat and kitten rescue operating throughout West, East and South Auckland.

Secondly we have Bay of Islands Animal Rescue who were nominated by TOSCA

Bay of Islands Animal Rescue is a rescue and rehoming charity. We are staffed by volunteers and we run purely on donations and fundraising.

We are lucky enough to have amazing support from the community who donate time, materials and money.

BOIAR is a non-profit organization and our members donate their time and energy for their love of animals.

Thirdly we have The Kitten Orphanage who were nominated by Geyserland Cat Club

We provide a warm, safe and loving sanctuary for abandoned, unwanted and vulnerable kittens and cats.

Lastly we have Helping Paws who were nominated by Hamilton Cat Club

Helping Paws was established in June 2020. We focus primarily on rescuing, rehabilitating, desexing and rehoming 500 cats and kittens annually. We rescue little ones from across Auckland and Northland, and run an extensive foster network across both regions.

We also operate an Animal Rescue Centre in Mangawhai. This Rescue Centre is home to approximately 80 adult cats at any one time. Adult cats take longer to find their forever families, so our commitment to these adults is they will remain with us until their new family eventually comes in to meet them and take them home.

Our Rescue Centre also houses a maternity suite for mother cats with newborns, and isolation facilities for little ones with cat flu.

While cats and kittens are at the heart of our operation, Helping Paws also takes in orphaned ducklings during the spring and summer months, and is home to a wide variety of rescued animals, including miniature horses, alpacas, sheep and goats who pop over to spend time with our rescued cats every afternoon.
