Show Information

The Kiwi Katz Virtual Cat Show 2024 is a five-ring competition with judges from across the world that features both traditional and fun rings.

The breed sections are based on breed standards and NZCF regulations. If you are unfamiliar with the NZCF show structure, you could discover that your cat is entered in a different category than you anticipated. Please contact the committee if you want to double check.

Traditional Sections

Entry is based on the age of the cat in the photo, but each cat may only be entered in ONE traditional section (e.g. either cat OR kitten). Three photos are required per exhibit entered in a traditional section: one profile (side) shot, one head shot, and one full body shot. This year we are permitting professional photos to be used but amateur photos are encouraged.

Pedigree sections

The following are the pedigree sections:

  • Longhair Entire Cats
  • Longhair Entire Kittens
  • Longhair Neuter/Spay Cats
  • Longhair Neuter/Spay Kittens
  • Shorthair Entire Cats
  • Shorthair Entire Kittens
  • Shorthair Neuter/Spay Cats
  • Shorthair Neuter/Spay Kittens

Only NZCF-accepted breeds are eligible for entry into the pedigree section. Please see the breed list here. Your cat must be a registered pedigree with a recognized cat fancy.

Companion section

The companion section is intended for cats that meet one of the following descriptions:

  • Breed not yet recognized by NZCF
  • Part-pedigree
  • Non-registered pedigree
  • Pedigree phenotype
  • Registered pedigree with fault

Cats and kittens will be judged together. Longhair and shorthair companions are judged separately.

Domestic section

The domestic section is intended for household pets with no known pedigree (e.g. rescue cats or moggies). Cats and kittens will be judged together. Longhair and shorthair domestics will be judged separately this year.

Fun rings

Any cat/kitten can be entered in one or more fun rings. Only one photo is required per entry. Both amateur and professional photos are welcome.

Junior Exhibitors

The junior exhibitor’s section is open to under-16s, but entries must be submitted by a parent/guardian.

Junior exhibitors must submit a brief film showcasing their cat that is no more than two minutes. You must briefly describe your cat’s characteristics and personality in the video. In the case of pedigree, you could decide to discuss the breed.
